being a writer sucks ass

so i was so excited when i published my first story
i spent 10 years writing this story
in a month and half ive sold 10 copies
i jokingly told everyone i would be happy if i sold enough to buy someone elses book or a cup of coffee
and that would be fine if i had made enough at anyone place to actually get paid but the way it is now i dont have enough at any sale point to have them cut me a check.
i figured  that some of my fanfiction readers might buy but nope
im just whining again
its still just you two so ignore me again

the reason Second Door on the Right exists

someone told me that an author is suppose to use their blog to tell people about their books and where they got the inspiration for the story.

well honestly because i didn't think about sex and my then boyfriend now husband wanted me to.

i tried everything to be more interested but still switching mind sets from single mom to girlfriend/wife wasn't easy. sex just wasn't a thought.

stumbling around on the internet one day i found the now defunct erotica.net it was a great free site with quality erotica. a place people actually spell checked their work and it didn't look like it was written in a foreign language and translated in to three others before being translated into english.

I found that hey after i read a story or two there i was actually thinking about sex. So i kept reading and kept reading. And he was happy.

But after reading for months i found a problem. I am pagan (i believe in more than one god and she's a chick) all the pagan/witch stories weren't about pagans they were about hollywood witches. Spells, incantations and demons. I wanted a witch like me, couldn't find a SINGLE one. So I said fuck it and started to write my own. The idea also was that if i wrote it for my husband and i, we could read it together and we would both be thinking about sex at the same time. That didn't work out for years but hey... it took me 8 years to finish the story so oh well.

now to book is finished the cover is done and hes read it. to bad no one else is.

off to try and drum up some more business

I survived day after holiday

So I survived...barley.
I have the photo for the next book lined up.
Mary Ann is going to let me borrow a room for Stuart to take the picture.
I needed a boring nightstand.
Stuart is my awesome wonderful god I love you Scottish accented photographer.
Now I  just need to track him down and find out when he can do it.
Betty the awesome is doing the editing so maybe next month The Shy and The Brave will be out.
Now if I just find people to buy Second Door on the Right.

extra days off and alarm clocks

alarm clocks should automatically know its a holiday and just not work on that day
especially husbands alarm clocks...not even mine because i remembered to turn it off
now ive been awake for an hour and i hadnt even planned on getting up for another hour
ugggg now i want coffee and a bagel and to get the second i have to go clear across town and i might as well get the first since i have to go to starbucks to get the second anyways.

books and booze

So earlier this year I found the absolute best vodka ever.
Chocolate Raspberry Vodka for Gadiva.....ITS GADIVA need I same more???
Anyways I soon found out that this was a limited run item that was actually from last year
(how did I miss it????) and that there were only a few bottle available.
Now I am down to the last bottle and even though I want this lovely nectar from the gods I am saving it for milestones reached with my books.
Right now I just want to make it to ten Second Door on the Right sold.
Then 50 then 100.
Help me to continue on drinking this wonderful vodka, buy a book and you'll get a thank you card and I'll get a shot. :)

food booze and the long weekend

I've had my steak about to have my salad with toasted almonds drank my first glass of pom and vodka and now for a long weekend of nothing but more food booze and nothing.
I might get some work done but only if the muse and the plot bunnies gang up on me and attack.
On a work note though my friend Betty who says she doesn't want to end up in my book (to late I see a tall leggy blond appearing soon) said she would be working on the editing this weekend.  I hope she gets to enjoy some of the sun we have...WE HAVE A SUMMER!!!!! for those who know where i live you will understand for those of you who don't HOLY SHIT BATMAN WE HAVE SUNSHINE!!!

Social Networking Headache

Trying to get all the ducks in a row for social networking sucks.
And so far I haven't seen any benefit.
Going to see if Sara can lend a hand with out breaking my wallet.
